TypeScore ("TypeScore", "we", "us") is a free online typing speed test operated by an individual based in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what limited information we handle and your choices. Questions? Email mottoes-welter-4q@icloud.com.

The short version

The typing test runs entirely in your browser. We don't require an account, we don't set cookies, we don't use advertising or tracking, and we don't collect the text you type. The only information we store is what you choose to submit to the public leaderboard.

What we collect

Leaderboard submissions (optional). If you choose to save a score, we store the display name you enter and your test results (words per minute, accuracy, consistency, character counts, test length, and a general device category such as "mobile phone", "tablet", or "computer"). This is shown publicly on the leaderboard. Don't enter your real name or any personal information if you'd rather stay anonymous — a nickname is fine.
Technical/server data. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) processes basic technical information such as IP address and request logs to deliver and secure the site. We don't use this to identify you.
What we do NOT collect: the text you type during a test, your email address, account credentials (there are no accounts), or any advertising/analytics profile.

Cookies and tracking

TypeScore does not set cookies, use local storage for tracking, or run analytics or advertising scripts. Because of this, no cookie-consent banner is presented.

Third-party services

Cloudflare hosts the site and the leaderboard storage and processes requests on its global network.
Google Fonts may be used to load the typefaces, which can transmit your IP address to Google for the purpose of serving fonts.

We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Your choices and rights

Because leaderboard entries are optional and public, the simplest control is not to submit one. If you'd like a leaderboard entry removed, email mottoes-welter-4q@icloud.com with the name and score and we'll remove it.

Depending on where you live (for example, under Canada's PIPEDA and British Columbia's PIPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Contact us at the address above to make a request.

Data retention

The leaderboard keeps only a limited number of top scores; older or lower entries are not retained. We keep submitted entries until they are removed or pushed off the board.

Children

TypeScore is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children. Please do not submit personal information through the leaderboard.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
